  • The new WagonR Xtra Edition gets some cosmetic additions both inside and outside of the car. These include front & rear bumper protectors, wheel arch cladding, bodyside moldings, side skirts, and chrome garnishing for the front grille, back door, and number plate. Inside the cabin, the new WagonR comes equipped with what Maruti describes as an "interior styling kit".
  • It also gets an air inflator, trunk organizer, and car charge extender.

It is important to note that these add-ons are a part of Maruti's genuine accessories range and one can also buy them separately. However, as part of the Xtra Edition, the whole package is available for Rs 23,000, whereas buying individually will cost an additional amount of Rs 10,000. Maruti retails the WagonR VXi in the range of Rs 5.13 lakh to Rs 6.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Since it is a special edition, there are no mechanical and feature changes. Hence, it continues to be available with the existing 68PS 1.0-litre and 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engines, mated to either a 5-speed manual or AMT.

In terms of features, the WagonR Xtra comes with all the equipment of the standard VXi trim like a 2-DIN infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, steering mounted controls, keyless entry, steel wheels with wheel covers, day/night IRVM, power-adjustable wing mirrors, all-four power windows, tilt adjustment function for the steering wheel, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and more.

On the safety front, it gets a driver-side airbag (passenger-side airbag as on option), ABS with EBD, a high-speed alert system, seatbelt reminder, and rear parking sensors.
