Maruti Suzuki Reports 199,400 Unit Sales in February 2025, Sees Steady Growth

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, recorded total sales of 199,400 units in February 2025, reflecting a steady performance compared to the 197,471 units sold in the same month last year.

Breakdown of Maruti Suzuki’s Sales Figures

The total sales for Maruti Suzuki in February 2025 include 163,501 units in the domestic market, 10,878 units sold to other OEMs, and 25,021 units exported. Here’s the segment-wise sales stats: –

  • Mini Segment (Alto, S-Presso): 10,226 units, a decline from 14,782 units in February 2024.
  • Compact Segment (Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR): 72,942 units, showing a slight rise from 71,627 units last year.
  • Mid-Size Segment (Ciaz): 1,097 units, significantly up from 481 units in February 2024.
  • Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, XL6): 65,033 units, registering growth over 61,234 units sold in February 2024.
  • Vans (Eeco): 11,493 units, slightly lower than 12,147 units last year.

In the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment, Maruti Suzuki sold 2,710 units of the Super Carry, compared to 3,126 units last year.

Overall Market Performance

The total domestic passenger vehicle sales (PV) for the Maruti Suzuki stood at 160,791 units in February 2025, marking a minor increase from 160,271 units in February 2024. When combined with LCV sales, total domestic sales reached 163,501 units, maintaining a stable trend.

Meanwhile, sales to other OEMs nearly doubled to 10,878 units, up from 5,147 units in the previous year, indicating stronger demand from partner brands. On the global front, Maruti Suzuki’s exports stood at 25,021 units, witnessing a decline from 28,927 units recorded in February 2024.

Year-to-Date (YTD) Performance

For the April 2024 – February 2025 period, Maruti Suzuki’s total sales reached 2,041,282 units, a growth over 1,948,127 units during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the Indian automobile market, with consistent domestic demand and a robust utility vehicle segment. The carmaker remains focused on expanding its portfolio and catering to diverse customer preferences across segments.
