Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Crosses 3 Lakh Sales Milestone

Launched in October 2014, Maruti Ciaz is one of the best-selling C-segment sedans in the country. The brand has announced that it has clocked 3 lakh sales milestone, making it the fastest in the premium sedan segment to attain such numbers.

Speaking on the milestone, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said-

Since its launch in 2014, Ciaz has redefined the segment with its class-leading space, design, and sophistication & has witnessed a resounding success in the highly competitive premium sedan segment. The milestone of 3 Lakh sales demonstrates customer’s faith and confidence in the brand.

The huge success of the Maruti Ciaz can be attributed to its highly spacious and features loaded cabin and competitive pricing. It comes with auto LED headlamps, a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a semi-leather upholstery, auto climate control, rear AC vents, passive keyless entry with push-button start, height-adjustable driver's seat, and cruise control, etc. The safety kit includes dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and rear parking sensors with a camera.

Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is powered by a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine (105PS/138Nm), coupled to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It returns a mileage of 20.65 kmpl with manual and 20.04 kmpl with the automatic unit. Previously, it was also available with a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced diesel engine, but it was discontinued in 2020 during the BS6 transition phase. However, reports suggest that the Indo-Japanese carmaker will soon introduce the Ciaz, XL6, and Ertiga with BS6-compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine.

The Ciaz is priced between Rs 8.72 lakh and Rs 11.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and rivals the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid, and Volkswagen Vento.
