Maruti Suzuki Cars To Get Expensive From September 2021

Maruti Suzuki will raise the prices of its product range from September 2021. While the carmaker hasn't specified the exact amount for the hike, it is mainly due to an increase in the cost of production.

In its official statement, Maruti Suzuki India said –

With reference to our earlier communications with respect to the price increase, we wish to inform you that over the past year the cost of Company's vehicles continues to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative to pass on some impact of the additional cost to the customers through a price rise. The price rise has been planned across models in September 2021.

This will be the third major price revision for Maruti cars in the current year. Earlier in January 2021, Maruti Suzuki had inflated the asking prices of its entire range by up to Rs 34,000. The second price hike came in April month. However, it is also important to note that the brand had increased the prices of the Swift hatchback and its entire CNG model line-up by up to Rs 15,000 in July 2021. Hence, these models can be set free from the upcoming price hike.
