Maruti Fronx Turbo Velocity Edition Launched

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Fronx Turbo Velocity Edition in India to make the sub-4m crossover look sportier than before. It is essentially an accessory kit to sweeten the deal on the existing model. It will be available in three variants – Delta+, Zeta and Alpha, with an additional price of Rs 43,000.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo Velocity Edition accessory package adds a grey & black exterior styling kit, headlamp garnish, front grille garnish, and OVRM covers. It also adds door visors and body side moulding, along with wheel arch garnish and spoiler extender. Inside, it receives an illuminated door sill guard, an interior styling kit in a carbon finish, a red dash-designed mat, a NeXCross Bordeaux sleeve seat covers, and a 3D boot mat.

These accessories are expected to be fitted at the Nexa dealerships, so you can drive off with a sportier-looking Fronx Turbo without having to visit aftermarket shops.

Maruti Fronx Turbo Velocity Edition Powertrain

No mechanical changes have been made to the Fronx. The Velocity Edition will be offered with the SUV’s 1-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 100PS and 148Nm. It gets the choice of a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Maruti also offers the Fronx with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, DualJet DualVVT petrol engine as the Baleno that produces 89PS and 113Nm. It gets the choice of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. This engine can be paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit, delivering a lowered output of 77.5PS and 98.5 Nm, and is paired with a 5-speed manual unit.

Fuel Efficiency

The turbocharged engine has a fuel efficiency of 21.5kmpl with manual and 20.1kmpl with AT, while the naturally aspirated unit puts out a figure of 21.79 kmpl with manual and 22.89 kmpl with AMT. On the other hand, the CNG unit claims 28.51 km/kg.

At present, Maruti retails the Fronx turbo between Rs 9.72 lakh and 12.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

In other news, Maruti Suzuki Nexa is offering discounts of up to Rs 83,000 on the MY23 version of Fronx, comprising cash discounts, exchange benefits and more.
