Maruti Alto and S-Presso Are No Longer Available In Single Airbag Variants

  • All the variants of Maruti Alto and S-Presso are now available with driver and co-driver airbags.
  • The Alto now ranges from Rs 4.08 lakh to Rs 5.03 lakh, whereas the S-Presso now costs between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5.64 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki has axed the single airbag variants of the entry-level Alto and S-Presso hatchbacks. That said, the LXI (O) has become the new base-spec variant of the Maruti Alto, whereas the S-Presso’s variant lineup will now start from the STD (O) trim. The brand also took the opportunity to revise the prices of their existing variants by a decent margin. Here’s a look at the updated variants list of both the Maruti cars with their revised prices: –

In the other news, the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways (MoRTH) has recently approved a draft notification to make 6 airbags mandatory in cars (carrying up to 8 passengers) from October 2022. This will further make all the cars more expensive.
