Mahindra XUV700 Could Get A 6-Seater Variant Soon

Mahindra has been enjoying the tremendous success of the XUV700 in the Indian market. It has already received more than 70,000 bookings since October 7. Currently, the mid-size SUV is available in two seating configurations – 5-seater and 7-seater. Now a picture in the AdrenoX app shows that it could soon be offered in a 6-seater layout as well with captain seats in the second row. With its launch, the XUV700 will be available with the most number of seating options in the segment.

One can notice that the second-row captain seats in the above images have independent armrests and adjustable headrests. Expect them to also get slide and recline function along with one-touch tumble function for quick & easy access to the third-row seats.

As of now, the Mahindra XUV700 is available in four broad trims: MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. The range-topping AX7 trim can also be teamed up with an optional Luxury Pack for a premium of Rs 1.8 lakh that includes features like a Sony 3D sound system, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, a wireless phone charger, and an electronic parking brake. In our opinion, the 6-seater options could be limited to the mid-& top-spec variants of the SUV.

In terms of powertrains, the 6-seater Mahindra XUV700 is likely to be offered with the ongoing 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mStallion turbocharged petrol (200PS/380Nm) and 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mHawk turbo-diesel engines (155PS/360Nm or 185PS/up to 450Nm), paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

For now, the prices of Mahindra XUV700 start from Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Currently, it is commanding a waiting period of up to 18 months, depending on the variant. That means you would have to wait for more than a year to get your hands on your preferred model. Mahindra has stated that they will deliver 14,000 units of the SUV by January 14, 2022.
