Mahindra XUV400 EL Variant Reaches 400 Homes

Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it has delivered 400 units of the range-topping EL variant of the XUV400 EV to customers. The electrified SUV was launched in January 2023.

Mahindra XUV400 – An Overview

  • Mahindra XUV400 broke cover in September 2022 and went on sale earlier this year.
  • The booking window for Mahindra XUV400 opened on Republic Day, and it has already garnered over 10,000 bookings.
  • Mahindra offers the XUV400 EV in two variants: EC and EL.
  • Deliveries of the EC variant will commence around the festive season.

Mahindra XUV400 variants
  • The standard range variant (EC) of the Mahindra XUV400 EV gets a 34.5kWh battery pack, suitable for up to 375 kilometres of range.
  • The longer-range EL variant comes with a 39.4kWh battery pack, claimed to produce up to 456km of range on a single charge.
  • Irrespective of the battery capacity, the XUV400 gets a front-axle mounted electric motor (150PS/310Nm), enabling the SUV to sprint from nought to 100kmph in merely 8.3 seconds, making it the fastest mass-market EV in the Indian market.

  • When it comes to features, the Mahindra XUV400 packs an electric sunroof, all-wheel disc brakes, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, cruise control, multi-driving modes, push-button start-stop, six airbags, stability control, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. Click here for variant-wise feature details.
  • Mahindra retails the XUV400 EV from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
  • In the electric SUV segment, the Mahindra XUV400 locks horns with the Tata Nexon Prime and Max. It can also be seen as an affordable alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
