Mahindra is gearing up to launch the 5-door Thar in India in 2024. While we’ve enough details about its exterior design, we finally get a sneak peek at its dashboard layout undisguised.
Going by the leaks, the 5-door Thar will feature a dual-tone black-and-brown colour scheme instead of the existing Thar’s all-black theme. The SUV is also expected to feature a larger infotainment system, possibly a 10-inch unit with a new user interface and more features. However, the air-con vents, HVAC controls, and the row of toggle switches at the bottom will remain unchanged.

The earlier leaked spy shots also confirmed the presence of the front central armrest and rear AC vents for added convenience. The SUV is also expected to sport a new instrument cluster with a larger MID, an all-LED lighting system and a single-pane electric sunroof. Mahindra will offer the extended Thar only in the fixed-type metal hardtop roof guise.
Engine Options
Underneath the hood, the extended Mahindra Thar is expected to retain the ongoing 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines, paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. It will also be offered with an optional 4WD.
