The Kia Syros has achieved an impressive 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, making it the first made-in-India Kia car to earn top scores under the program. Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
- The Kia Syros scored 30.21 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection.
- In the frontal offset crash test at 64 kmph, it scored 14.21 out of 16 points.
- In the side deformable barrier test conducted at 50 kmph, it secured a full 16 out of 16 points.
- The Syros offered good protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck.
- The driver’s chest protection was rated adequate, while the passenger’s chest got a good rating.
- The thighs and pelvis of both front occupants received good protection.
- The driver’s tibias and the passenger’s right tibia received adequate protection, while the feet area was rated good.
- In the side pole test, the Syros again showed good protection to all body areas.
Child Occupant Protection (COP)
- The Syros secured 44.42 out of 49 points in child occupant protection.
- It earned 23.42 out of 24 points in the dynamic test.
- The child restraint system (CRS) installation scored 10 out of 12 points.
- The vehicle assessment score was 9 out of 13 points.
- For an 18-month-old child, it scored 7.58 out of 12, while for a 3-year-old child, the score was slightly higher at 7.84 out of 12.
- Bharat NCAP does not detail specific child body area protection results like head or chest.

Safety Features of Kia Syros
For those unaware, the Kia Syros comes loaded with six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, etc., as part of the standard fitment. However, higher-spec variants also get amenities like a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, an electronic parking brake and a level-2 ADAS suite.
