Kia Motors has revealed its new brand logo in January 2021 with a fresh slogan – ‘Movement that inspires’. We will soon see the Kia models wearing the new logo. In fact, the brand is all set to make a debut of its new monogram in India along with the updated Seltos on April 27. But ahead of the official announcement, the Sonet subcompact SUV has been spotted with the new logo, present on its hood, tailgate, and hubcaps. That said, it will be embossed on its horn pad as well. Apart from the new logo, there wasn’t any visible change to the SUV.
Besides the Sonet, the brand will also reveal the 2021 Carnival and Seltos with the revised emblem. While we don't expect any kind of change to the Carnival premium MPV, the Seltos's could get a new Gravitas Edition variant as well as the option of an iMT (clutchless manual) gearbox. The Seltos Gravity Edition is expected to come with some visual intensification and a few extra features, including a panoramic sunroof. You can read about it here.
Kia has recently rejigged the variant line-up of both Sonet and Seltos SUVs. With the new logo, Seltos could witness variant reshuffling again. However, no changes will be made to the engine options of any SUV. For reference, the Kia Sonet is currently available with three engine options -1.0-litre turbo petrol (120PS/172Nm), 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (83PS/115Nm)/, and 1.5-litre diesel (upto 115PS/250Nm). As for power transmission, the petrol engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, whereas the turbocharged gasoline unit can be had with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. On the other hand, the diesel engine comes with 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic choices. It currently retails from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 13.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Seltos compact SUV also comes with three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol (115PS/144Nm), 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol (140PS/242Nm), and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm). All three motors get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an automatic transmission option – a 7-speed DCT for turbo-petrol, a CVT for NA petrol, and a 6-speed torque converter for the diesel unit. Now, its NA petrol variant could also get an iMT options. Currently, the Seltos is priced between Rs 9.89 lakh to Rs 17.45 lakh (ex-showroom), and we believe there will be some change in its prices.
