Kia Sonet Gets New Variants and Revamped Features List

The Kia Sonet has officially received three new variants, including the GTX variant, about which we reported a few days ago. The automaker has confirmed a new HTK turbo-petrol variant, priced at Rs 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

New Kia Sonet Variants

  • Starting with the GTX variant, it is offered with both 1-litre turbocharged petrol (120PS/172Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (116PS/250Nm) engines, paired with 7-speed DCT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, respectively.
  • Positioned between the HTX+ and GTX+ variants, the new Sonet GTX trim comes loaded with features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, paddle shifters, leatherette seats, drive and traction control modes, and an auto up/down safety window function.
  • Kia has priced the Sonet GTX at Rs 13.71 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • Customers can now buy the Kia Sonet with the turbo-petrol engine at just Rs 9.60 lakh with the introduction of the new HTK turbo-petrol-iMT variant.

New Features Addition

Aside from introducing the new variants, Kia has also added new features like ISOFIX child seat anchors, wireless smartphone charger, rear wipers and washers, and diamond-cut alloy wheels, to name a few, to the lower trims as well. Here’s what each variant gets new: –

New Price

As we reported a few days ago, Kia has also recently hiked prices for the Sonet by up to Rs 27,000. With this, the Sonet now costs between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 15.77 lakh (ex-showroom).

In the sub-4m SUV segment, it locks horns with the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
