- Carens is Kia’s all-new 6/7-seater MPV that will be available in five variants: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus.

Kia India will launch its all-new Carens on February 15, 2022. It’s a 6/7-seater utility vehicle, which the brand calls a Recreational Vehicle (RV). It is essentially a cross-version of an SUV and MPV that will rival the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XV700, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and the SUV it is based on, the Hyundai Alcazar. Bookings for the car are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

The Carens is Kia’s fourth offering in our country. It debuts the brand’s global ‘Opposites United’ design language with notable highlights including a more elegant ‘Tiger Nose’ grille with a striking LED lighting setup, giving it a futuristic appeal.
Kia will offer the Carens in five broad trims: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus. While a 7-seater layout will be standard across the lineup, its top-spec Luxury Plus trim will also be available in a 6-seater configuration.
Features onboard will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driver’s display, connected car tech, in-built air purifier, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, auto climate control with roof-mounted rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, 6-airbags (standard) and a segment-first electronic tumble seat for the second row. Speaking of the powertrain, Kia will provide the MPV with three engine options: 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and diesel, and 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. Here’s a look at their specifications: –
