Jeep Meridian: Variant-wise Features Explained

Meridian – Jeep’s answer to the MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Toyota Fortuner is set to be launched next month, with deliveries expected to begin from the third week of June 2022. It will be offered in two variants: Limited and Limited (O). Being a 7-seater version of the Compass, the Jeep Meridian shares lots of metiers with its 5-seater sibling, including the platform, powertrain, design, and features. Here’s the Meridian’s variant-wise split of key features: –

Jeep Meridian Limited Variant

Key Features: –

  • Exterior:- LED automatic projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED cornering fog lamps, 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, roof rails.
  • Interior: – Black-&-brown dual-tone interior color scheme, lather seats, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 60:40 split second-row seat, 50:50 split third-row seat.
  • Comfort & Convenience: – Rain sensing wipers, recline/fold/tumble function for 2nd-row seats, recline and flat fold functions for 3rd-row seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat (manual), keyless entry with push-button start/stop, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, auto-folding ORVMs.
  • Infotainment/Entertainment: – 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with UConnect 5 connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alpine 9-speaker audio system, Integrated voice commands
  • Off-road traits and Safety features: – Front-wheel drive (FWD) drivetrain, frequency selective damping suspension, all-season tires, traction control, hill start assist, Electronic stability control (ESC), 6-airbags, electronic parking brake, tire pressure monitoring system.

Jeep Meridian Limited (O) Variant

Key Features (over Limited variant): –

  • Exterior:- Dual-pane sunroof, dual-tone paint option.
  • Interior: – 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
  • Comfort & Convenience: – Electric tailgate, powered front seats.
  • Off-road traits and Safety features: – All-wheel-drivetrain (optional with AT trim), terrain modes (only for AWD), 360-degree camera, and hill descent control.
Jeep Meridian Limited 4x4 variant

Jeep will initially offer the Meridian 7-seater SUV with the Compass’s 170PS/350Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While a front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) will be standard, the optional all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) unit will be restricted to the top-spec automatic variants only.
