How is Eagle Edition different from other Compass's variants?
Exterior
As stated earlier, it is a special and limited edition variant of Compass SUV. It comes with several cosmetic upgrades that comply black color theme. It gets a black color treatment on both the exterior and interior.
It sports a chrome black inserts on the grille and window line and black Jeep badging on both ends. Even the 18-inch alloys are also finished in black. However, it is interesting to perceive that the exterior paint is not limited to black color only. Yes, the Jeep Compass Night Eagle Edition can be had in four paint schemes which include Vocal White, Exotica Red, Magnesio Grey, and of course, a Brilliant Black.
Interior
As obvious, the black color theme can be seen on the inside too. The company has finished the dashboard, ‘techno’ leather-fabric seat upholstery, and the door pads in black. The surroundings of AC vents and the infotainment system carry glossy/piano black finishing.
Features
As far as the features are concerned, it gets all the goodies of Longitude Plus variants, which mainly includes a Xenon projector headlamps, 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control, push engine start/stop button, keyless entry, steering mounted controls, power-adjustable & foldable ORVMs and cruise control (in AT variants).
In terms of safety, it gets 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a reverse parking camera.
Engine
Under the hood, it houses the same engine choices as the regular offering, 1.4-litre turbo petrol (160PS / 250Nm) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (173PS / 350Nm). As clear from the above table, the petrol engine is offered with only 7-speed DCT automatic transmission while the diesel mill is available with both 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission (with only 4X4 drivetrain).
Author’s take
Night Edition can be a good option for those buyers who want a car that stands out from the crowd. Also, knowing the fact that only 250 units will be sold of this edition, there is no question of its becoming common in the market.
