Jeep Compass Facelift To Be Launched On 27th January 2021

American carmaker Jeep is finally going to launch the facelifted Compass on 27th January 2021. Pre-launch bookings for the SUV have already been commenced for a token amount of Rs 50,000. 

If reports are to be believed the 2021 Jeep Compass will be available in four variants: Sport, Longitude (O), Limited (O), and the new top-ranging S trim. Jeep will also introduce two new color palette: Techno Metallic Green, and Galaxy Blue. Besides these shades, Compass will continue to carry forward the existing Exotica Red, Bright White, Minimal Grey, and Magnesio Grey color schemes. 

2021 Jeep Compass Facelift – Exterior, Interior & Features

Talking about the design-related updates, the Jeep Compass facelift will feature a new glossy black finished seven-slat grille, a redesigned LED headlamp with integrated new LED daytime running lamps, and a refreshed brawnier bumper, featuring a large air dam & a black section/strip running along the width of the car. It also comprises round LED fog lamps.

The changes on the side profile are restricted to the new 18-inch alloy wheels, whereas the rear design remains completely unchanged.

Compared to the exterior, the interior has undergone a complete makeover. It gets a newly designed dashboard with glossy black inserts, sleeker AC vents, new toggle controls, FCA’s latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system, a new 10.25-inch digital instrumentation, and a modish 3-spoke steering wheel. All these elements uplifting the cabin feel. 

The jewel in the town is the new 10.1-inch free-standing infotainment system that comes with connected car technology and supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. To enhance passenger convenience further, the new Jeep Compass also gets powered front seats with ventilation & memory function, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple Car Play & Android Auto smartphone connectivity, a wireless phone charger, 24 customizable layouts for instrumentation panel, and a powered tailgate.

Apart from this, it will continue to get features like auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto climate control, rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, powered wing mirrors, terrain traction management system, etc.

In terms of safety, the Compass facelift will get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill assist, parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), and roll-over mitigation. 

2021 Jeep Compass – Engine

The facelifted Compass will be powered by the same 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol (163PS/250Nm) and 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel (170PS/350Nm) engines as the ongoing model. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard for both engines. The gasoline motor will also be offered with a 7-speed DCT automatic, while the diesel mill will get a 9-speed torque converter transmission option along with an all-wheel-drivetrain.

Expected Price

Currently, the Jeep Compass is priced between Rs 16.5 lakh to Rs 27.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its facelift version will surely command a premium over the existing prices. In the mid-size SUV segment, the Compass facelift will renew its competition with the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson, MG Hector, Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq, and Mahindra XUV500.
