Jeep Compass 5th Anniversary Limited Edition Teased; Lauch Soon

The Jeep Compass SUV has been available in India for five years, and the carmaker has announced a new fifth-anniversary special edition to commemorate the event. It will be launched soon with minor cosmetic changes inside & out.

The cosmetic changes could include a new paint scheme, new exterior & interior bits with the ‘5th Anniversary’ badge, and bespoke leather seat upholstery. Feature-list, however, is expected to remain unchanged, with notable elements including 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, a digital driver display, wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated front seats. Its safety kit comprises up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill assist, electronic stability program, rollover mitigation, and panic brake assist.

Powering the Jeep Compass is either a 163PS 1.4-litre turbo petrol or a 172PS 2.0-liter diesel engine, both mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The petrol engine also gets the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), while the oil burner gets an optional 9-speed torque converter auto unit.

Expect the upcoming Jeep Compass Anniversary Edition to command a significant premium over its standard model. For reference, currently, it costs between Rs 18.39 lakh to Rs 29.94 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan, the imported Citroen C5 Aircross, and the new-gen Hyundai Tucson, which is going to be launched on August 10.
