Price

Sonnet will be up against the likes of established players like Brezza, Venue, EcoSport, Nexon, XUV 300, with the goodwill that the company has garnered through the success of Seltos. if Kia gets the pricing right the Sonnet is all set to rock the Indian market.

It is expected to be priced anywhere between Rs 6.5 Lakhs to Rs. 11 Lakhs.

Launch

Although Kia was all set to launch the Sonnet around August, right before the great festive season in the month of October and November, The paused operations due to COVID-19 pandemic will mean that Kia might just rethink about the dates.

The Venue gets a superior 1.0L DCT option and Sonnet might also get the same engine drive train configuration, though the Venue does not get an automatic in diesel, Kia might sense that as a great chance to outdo Venue and might just offer a diesel automatic option with the Sonnet.

Expected Features in Kia Sonet

Sonnet is all expected to be packed right up to the brim with a wholesome number of goodies. It will be packed with features like Sunroof, Cruise control, Automatic headlamps, a  touchscreen infotainment unit, mobile application connectivity and a lot more which we can speak about only once the company makes some official declaration.

Exterior

It is based on the same platform as that of Hyundai Venue, although the international spec model has a total length of 4036 mm, the Indian spec version will be trimmed down to be fitted under the sub-4-m space.

The international spec version is 1605 mm high and 1770 mm wide, its wheelbase is about 2500 mm and these are expected to remain the same, even for the Indian version.

Engine and Drivetrain options

In all likeliness, The Sonnet will derive the engine options from Venue that means it will be equipped with the 1.2L Petrol and 1.0L Turbo Petrol that also powers the Venue.

The diesel variant might house the 1.5L diesel engine that might be sourced from Sonnet's elder sibling- Seltos.

The Indian automobile market is filled with bright prospects which perhaps is the reason why many companies have tried to enter into the Indian market in the past few years and have put efforts to penetrate into the Indian market by addressing Indian buyer's priorities.

Hyundai's sister concern, Kia is certainly a new entrant but they seem to have grasped the pulse of the Indian market perfectly, With the launch of Seltos, Kia announced their arrival in style.
