Hyundai Verna Gets A New Base Variant, Other Variants Now Pricier By Rs 8,000

Hyundai has added a new petrol base variant – E to Verna's line-up. It is priced at Rs. 9,02,900 (ex-showroom). Earlier, the company had adopted a similar strategy with the Creta SUV.

The Verna E trim is only available with the 1.5-liter petrol engine (114PS/144Nm), mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The feature list of the entry-level E variant is similar to the Verna S variant. However, it misses out a few features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, USB charging port, sunglass holder, etc. Apart from these three equipments, the Verna E is exactly similar to the S trim.

Apart from launching the new petrol base trim, Hyundai has also revised the prices of the entire variant line-up of Verna sedan. Here’s a look at their updated prices:

The new Verna E petrol trim is Rs 36,000 cheaper than the S petrol variant. This Variant essentially seems an attempt by the Korean maker to make Verna competitively price compared to its rivals. However, the overall price range of the car has been jumped by Rs 8,000.
