Hyundai To Launch N Line Electric Vehicles In The Future

The N-badged performance version of the Hyundai Kona has recently made its world debut. It is the first Hyundai SUV to come with an N badge. During its premiere, the Korean brand has confirmed that it would soon add full-blown electric and fuel-cell vehicles to its N performance family. While details about the first N-line green vehicles are scarce at the moment, we believe the IONIQ 5 could be the first electric recipient of the N Line badge.

For the people not in know, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a midsized electric crossover, which is based on the Hyundai's latest Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This will also be the basis for many of its EVs going forward.

The INOIQ5 comes with two battery-pack choices – 58kWh and 72.6kWh. Both battery packs can be had with either a rear-wheel or an all-wheel-drivetrain. It's 72.6kWh dual-motor AWD powertrain is the most powerful setup, churning out 306PS of maximum grunt and 605Nm of peak torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 5.2 seconds before reaching the top speed of 185kmph. The RWD model, on the other hand, comes with a single motor for the rear axle and offers a WLTP-tested range of around 470-480kms. It can be fully charged with in just 18 minutes by using a fast charger of up to 350kW. If the brand gives the ICONIQ 5 an N-Line treatment, except it to get more sportier tweaks along the introduction of more powerful electric motors.
