Hyundai i20 Knight Launched At Rs 9.15 Lakh

Hyundai Motors has launched the i20 Knight Edition, making it the fourth model to get the treatment after the Creta (both regular and electric), Exter and Venue. The i20 N Line also receives the Knight treatment.

While the i20 Knight is based on the mid-spec Sportz (O) manual and top-spec Asta (O) CVT trims, the i20 N Line Knight is derived from the top-spec N8 variant. Here’s a look at their prices: –

ModelEx-Showroom PricePremium over Regular Model

i20 Asta (O) KnightRs 11.35 lakhRs 10,000

Hyundai i20, i20 Knight – What’s Special?

As is clear from the above table, the new Knight variants command a premium of up to Rs 12,000 over their standard counterparts. For this extra dough, the Knight trims get black treatment for the alloy wheels, skid plate, side mirrors, side sill garnish, and Hyundai logos (matte), along with a “KNIGHT” badge. They also feature red brake callipers for an extra dose of sportiness. In addition, the i20 N Line Knight also gets black roof rails.

The black theme continues inside the cabin as well, with brass colour inserts on the dashboard, door trims and seat upholstery. The Knight trims also get metal pedals.

New Feature Additions and Price Update

Aside from introducing the Knight variants, Hyundai has updated the standard trims of both the hatchbacks. Having said that, the top-spec i20 Asta and Asta (O) trims now get a rear spoiler, while the Asta (O) CVT also receives a dashcam and wireless connectivity support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These upgrades are also applicable to the i20 N Line.

With these upgrades, the prices for the i20 Asta MT and Asta (O) CVT have gone up by up to Rs 4,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively, whereas the price for the Asta (O) MT remains unchanged.

Engine Details

For those unaware, the Hyundai i20 comes with an 83PS 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. On the other hand, the i20 N Line houses a more powerful 120PS 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Rivals

These newly introduced Knight Edition variants of the Hyundai i20 and i20 N Line will lock horn with the Tata Altroz Dark Edition.
