Hyundai Exter SX Tech Variant Launched; Variant Lineup Updated

Hyundai Exter SX Tech

Hyundai India has updated the variant lineup of the Exter for 2025, introducing new SX Tech variants and additional features for some existing variants.

  • Priced at Rs 8.51 lakh for the manual and Rs 9.18 lakh for the AMT variant, the newly introduced SX Tech variant is positioned below the SX (O) trim in Exter’s lineup.
  • The brand also offers this variant with the CNG powertrain, priced at Rs 9.53 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • Compared to the S+ variant, the new Hyundai Exter SX Tech trim is Rs 58,000 more expensive. For this added premium, it gets additional features like black painted roof rails & rear spoiler, sharkfin antenna, dual dashcam setup, rear defogger, bi-function projector headlamps, smart keyless entry, ISOFIX child seat anchors, fabric + leather seats, push-button start/stop, tilt steering, and automatic AC.
  • Compared to the SX(O) variant, it skips amenities like a wireless charger, cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, and rear wiper

New Features for Exter S and S+

  • Apart from introducing the new SX Tech variant, Hyundai has also increased the prices for the S and S+ variants by up to Rs 15,000.
  • The mid-spec S variant, which has witnessed a price hike of Rs 15,000, now gets an enhanced safety suite, including features like vehicle stability control, electronic stability program, rear camera and hill start assist. It also gets amenities like dual-tone wheel covers and an 8-inch infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Furthermore, the S+ trim has seen a price hike of up to Rs 13,000, with feature additions like a sunroof, rear AC vents and power-adjustable side mirrors.
  • Hyundai has also introduced CNG powertrain options for the S and S+ Executive variants.

Powertrain

Hyundai offers the Exter with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 83PS and 114Nm. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The brand also offers it with a factory-fitted CNG kit which makes a reduced power output of 69PS and a peak torque of 95Nm when fed with natural gas. The CNG powertrain only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In the compact SUV segment, the Hyundai Exter faces competition from the Tata Punch and Citroen C3.
