Hyundai Alcazar Garners Over 4,000 Bookings; Petrol Variants Most In Demand

Hyundai Alcazar mid-sized SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market with prices ranging from Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the car were already started from 9th June at a token amount of Rs 25,000, and the brand has received over 4,000 bookings so far. The deliveries of the SUV have also been commenced across the nation.

As per the current statics, all three variants of the Alcazar (Prestige, Platinum, and Signature) are equally in demand. In fact, the manual and automatic variants have registered an equal number of bookings. However, as per the fuel type, the petrol variants account for 55% of bookings. Hyundai has also stated that 60% of customers have chosen the 6-seater model over the 7-seater trim.

For those who aren't aware, the Hyundai Alcazar is mainly available in three variants (names mentioned above), which are further divided into 18 sub-variants, depending on the fuel type, transmission, colors, and seating options. 

Speaking about the mechanicals, the Hyundai Alcazar gets two engine options – 2.0-liter petrol (159PS/191Nm) and 1.5-liter diesel (115PS/250Nm), paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Its petrol-manual model is claimed to deliver a fuel economy of 14.5kmpl, whereas its automatic version offers 14.2kmpl. The diesel model, on the other hand, promises a mileage of 18.1kmpl with automatic transmission and 20.4kmpl with the manual gearbox unit.

As for features, the Alcazar largely shares its equipment list with the Hyundai Creta. However, it also gets some additional goodies over its 5-seater counterpart such as OTA maps updates support for the infotainment system, front parking sensors, blind-view monitoring system, 360-degree camera, extendable front sun-visors, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, front seatback table with retractable cup-holder & tablet holder (only in 6-seater model), a unique floor-mounted armrest with a wireless mobile charging pad, storage space, and two cup-holders (only in 6-seater model), larger 18-inch alloy wheels, side footstep, and lot more. Click here to see the variant-wise features details.
