Hyundai Alcazar Bookings Open Unofficially; Launch Soon

Some Hyundai dealerships across the country have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming Alcazar SUV ahead of its global debut on 6th April 2021. Interested buyers can book it for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

For the people not in know, the Hyundai Alcazar is essentially a three-row version of the Hyundai Creta that will come in both 6-and 7-seat configuration, featuring captain seats and bench type seats for the second row respectively. The 6-seater model will also get ISOFIX child seat anchorages and a floor-mounted central armrest along with a wireless charger, and a small storage space.

Besides the seating layout, the upcoming Alcazar SUV will also get several distinctive elements from the 5-seater Creta. They include a redesigned front facia with a chrome studded grille, refreshed bumpers, a larger rear overhang with a quarter glass panel, redesigned taillamps, and flatter and upright tailgate section, etc. The dashboard layout, on the other hand, will be similar to its 5-seater counterpart save for the new black-and-brown colored cabin theme.

In terms of features, Alcazar is expected to retain most of the equipment from the Creta like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car technology, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, power-adjustable driver's seat, auto-dimming IRVM, in-built air purifier, wireless charger, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, Bose audio system, 6-airbags, etc. However, it could also get additional features like front parking sensors, a powered tailgate, AC vents and power sockets for the third row, and a 360-degree camera.

Powertrain options are also likely to remain the same as the Creta. However, it's unlikely to get the 115PS 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine. That means, the Alcazar will get two engine options: 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines. The turbo-petrol engine puts out 140PS and 242Nm, with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel motor produces 115PS and 250Nm for turbo-petrol, with the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter.

7 seater Hyundai Creta

Except it to demand a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the standard Creta, which retails between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 17.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, it could serve as an affordable alternative to the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV500.
