Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) announced that it will launch its e: SWAP services in Mumbai and Delhi by April 2025. Although Honda initially announced that the Activa e: would be available in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi starting February 2025, it now seems that sales will commence on that timeline exclusively in Bengaluru, and Mumbai and New Delhi will follow by April 2025. However, the Honda QC1, which comes with a fixed-type battery, will be available for sale nationwide from February onwards.
For those unaware, the recently unveiled Honda Activa e: comes with two 1.5kWh swappable battery packs that claim an IDC range of 102 kilometres on a single charge. The brand will provide the Activa e: without batteries to reduce the upfront cost. The batteries will be offered on a subscription basis, allowing users to pay for the usage separately. Surprisingly, these batteries cannot be charged at home.

On the other hand, the Honda QC1 gets a fixed 1.5kWh battery, powering a compact BLDC hub motor. The QC1 offers a range of 80 kilometres and a top speed of 50 kmph.

Honda aims to rapidly expand its battery-swapping network, with a plan to install 250 stations in Bengaluru, 150 in New Delhi and 100 in Mumbai by March 2026. This expansion will ensure easier access for a wider user base. To utilize the swapping stations, customers must sign up for a membership, which can be registered at the time of purchasing the electric Activa.
Honda is actively forging partnerships with petroleum companies and electricity providers to establish swapping stations at strategic locations. These stations will cater to both two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws equipped with swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries.
