Honda 2-wheelers India has finally forayed into the emerging electric two-wheeler segment with not only one but two electric scooters: the highly-anticipated Activa e: and the QC1. While the Activa e: will be launched in a phased manner, starting from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the QC1 will be offered nationwide from the launch. Bookings for these electric scooters will start from January 1st, 2025, while deliveries will commence from February. They will be manufactured at the brand’s Bengaluru-based facility.

- Design: The Honda Activa EV (Activa e:) and QC1 maintain a conventional scooter-like design with modern, sophisticated elements, giving them a unique appearance. Both sctooter sport a full-width LED headlamp, with the Activa e: also featuring smiling DRLs on the handlebar cowl, dominating the front profile. The EVs sport a large single-piece seat with a full-size grab handle. Passenger footrests in the Activa e: can be neatly folded into the bodywork.
- Colours: Both the Activa e: and QC1 will be offered in five colour options: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black colours.
- Underpinnings: Both EVs ride on 12-inch alloys, suspended on a telescopic fork up front and an adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.
- Key Features: The key features include an LED lighting system, a USB-C type port, two riding modes for QC1, three riding modes for Activa e:, and a 5-inch LCD rider’s display. The Activa e: also gets a reverse mode and a smart key fob, along with a 7.0-inch TFT screen in the range-topping Honda RoadSync Duo variant, which enables features like topple alert, maintenance alert, call & music control, navigation, live tracking, and OTA updates support.
- Storage: The QC1 features a 26-litre underseat storage.

Battery, Range and Performance
Under the seat of the new Honda Activa EV lies two removable battery packs, referred to as Mobile Power Packs. The capacity of each pack is 1.5 kWh. On the other hand, the QC1 gets a fixed-type 1.5 kWh battery pack. Here’s a look at their specifications: –

Since the Activa EV comes with portable batteries, charging them is very easy. The brand is also expanding its e: SWAP battery swapping stations across the country, allowing quick battery replacement to maximise uptime. Currently, Honda has 83 e: SWAP stations in Bengaluru and is rapidly expanding to other metro cities as well.

Expected Price
Since both models will be locally manufactured, Honda is expected to price them very competitively. The official price announcement will be made in January 2025.
