Honda Activa Drops Its 6G Suffix; Now Be Called Simply As ‘ACTIVA’

Honda 2-wheelers India has made a slight change to the name of its best-selling scooter for the past two decades, the Honda Activa 6G. This legendary commuter scooter will now be referred to simply as “Activa”, without the 6G tag.

  • The letter “G” in Activa’s name was used to indicate the generation of the model, such as the Activa 6G, which is the 6th version of the popular Activa scooter series.
  • The third-generation Honda Activa (3G), introduced in 2015, was the first model in the Activa series to be given the ‘G’ suffix in its name.
  • While it’s not official, we expect future Honda Activa models to use model year to differentiate them from their previous iterations.

Aside from updating the name, the Honda Activa remains unchanged. It will continue to get 109.51cc, fuel-injected engine rated at 7.79PS and 8.84Nm. It benefits from an ACG starter motor for noise-free cranking and an engine kill switch to shut down the engine without any damage.

Currently, Honda offers the Activa in four variants: STD, DLX, Premium and H-Smart, priced between Rs 75,347 to Rs 81,347 (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Hero Pleasure Plus and TVS Jupiter.
