Hero Xtreme 200S Launched In BS6 Avatar, Priced At Rs 1.15 Lakh

Hero MotoCorp has finally launched the BS6 iteration of Xtreme 200S motorcycle. For people not in know, it is the most affordable fully-faired bike in India, priced at Rs 1,15,715 (ex-showroom). At this price point, it is Rs 14,815 costlier than its BS4 version, which was priced at Rs 1,00,900 (ex-showroom).

The upgraded Hero Xtreme 200S continues to be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder OHC 2-valve engine with advanced XSens technology, which now follows the BS6 emission norms and gets a new oil-cooler to keep the engine temperature in check. However, to make it more environmental-friendly, the engine's performance figures have been humbled by 0.4PS and 0.65Nm, meaning the SI engine now produces 18.08PS and 16.45Nm. Transmission duties remain with the 5-speed gearbox.

Happily, everything regarding the BS6 Xtreme 200S is not on the downside, as the bike gets a new Pearl Fadeless White colour scheme apart from the older red & black colour options. The brand is also giving one-year free Roadside Assistance (RSA) with the motorcycle, which will provide 24×7 assistance to the customers all over India with advantages like on-call support, on spot repairs, tow to the nearest Hero workshop, fuel delivery in case one runs out of fuel, flat tyre support, battery jump-start, accidental assistance (on demand) and key retrieval support, etc.

The underpinnings of the bike are unchanged. It continues to use a diamond-type frame, supported by telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are commanded by a 276mm disc up front with single-channel ABS unit as standard and a 220mm disc at the rear. It stands on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 100/80-section tyres at the front and 130/70-section tyres at the rear.

As far as the features are concerned, the Hero Xtreme 200S gets an LED headlight, LED taillamp, Bluetooth enabled full-digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation & call alert, gear position indicator, time, etc.
