Engine

The Xtreme 160R gets a BS6 compliant 2-valve single cylinder OHC160 cc air-cooled engine, which is couppled to a 5-speed transmission. This engine produces a power output of 15.22 PS at 8500 rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. With the 2-valve head, its the most powerful bike in its segment. The engine also gets smart tech like the Xsens and Smart Programmed-Fuel-Injection technology.

As per the company claims, due to a relatively lesser kerb weight of 138.5 kilograms, the bike has the best power-to-weight ratio (109.89PS/tonne) in its segment. Also, its acceleration figures (0 to 60 kmph in 4.7 seconds) can put some higher segment bikes to shame.

Author’s Take

By the looks of it, Xtreme 160R sends across a really strong message. Its design looks fresh and it gets good pack of features. On-paper, it seems to be having a fun-to-drive engine well complemented by the fact that it is the lightest bike in the segment.

most affordable 150 cc / 160cc bike in india

Though it has some tough competition along its way, we really feel that Xtreme 160R does pack in the punch to put up a formidable fight against the other popular offerings of the segment including TVS Apache 160 RTR 4V, Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar 150.
