First MG Select Premium Dealership Opens In Thane

0

MG is getting ready to launch two of its premium electric cars in India – the MG M9 and the MG Cyberster. These cars will not be sold through regular MG showrooms, but through their new, more premium outlets called ‘MG Select’. The company has just opened its first MG Select dealership in India, located in Thane near R City Mall. This new showroom is operated by Tejpal Motors.

MG also plans to open 12 more MG Select dealerships in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata, and Kochi.

Let’s now take a closer look at what the upcoming MG M9 and MG Cyberster have to offer.

MG M9

MG M9 – A Premium Electric MPV

The MG M9 was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is slated to launch in the coming weeks. Measuring over 5 meters in length, the M9 is designed for comfort, practicality and long-range travel.

Exterior Design

It boasts a boxy yet elegant design, giving it a modern appearance and robust road presence. It comes equipped with projector LED headlamps paired with eyebrow-style LED DRLs, connected LED tail lights, and electric sliding doors for added convenience.

Interior and Features

Inside, the M9 gets a stylish black and tan dual-tone dashboard, featuring dual digital displays and a unique 2-spoke steering wheel. The MPV offers two sunroofs — a single-pane sunroof at the front and a panoramic one for rear passengers.

It has 6 seats, with ventilation, massaging, and power-adjustable functions for both the first and second rows. Other highlights include 3-zone automatic climate control and 64-colour ambient lighting for a luxurious cabin feel.

Safety

For safety, it comes kitted with multiple airbags, front & rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and level-2 ADAS.

Powertrain and Range

Powering it will be a 90kWh battery that has a claimed range of 548km on a single charge. It will come paired with a front axle-mounted electric motor (245PS/350Nm).

Expected Price and Rivals

We expect MG to price the M9 at around Rs 70 lalh (ex-showroom), placing it as an electric alternative to the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival.

MG Cyberster – A Sporty Electric Roadster

MG is also gearing up to launch the Cyberster, which is a convertible electric roadster that can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, making it one of the fastest EVs in its class. This is attributed to its aerodynamic design and the mighty dual-motor setup producing an impressive power output of 510PS and a peak torque of 725Nm.

It draws its power from a 77 kWh battery, offering a WLTP-claimed range of 443 kilometres.

Design

The Cyberster features a sleek, aerodynamic Kammback silhouette with electric scissor doors. Adding to its roadster appeal is the electric soft-top roof that folds down for an open-air driving experience at the push of a button.

Interior and Features

The interior of the MG Cyberster is inspired by aircraft cockpits, with a total of four digital screens — including dual driver displays, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a dedicated climate control screen. Premium leather upholstery, contrast stitching, and ambient lighting enhance the cabin’s appeal.

It comes with heated and ventilated bucket seats, a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, an advanced infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a premium audio system, AI-driven voice commands and ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Expected Price

The Cyberster is likely to be priced at around 80 lakh (ex-showroom).
