Ducati Multistrada V4 Flagship Adventure Motorcycle Launched In India

The long-awaited Ducati's flagship adventure (ADV) model, the Multistrada V4, has finally hit the Indian shores. It is said to be the most versatile Ducati ever. Prices of the Multistrada V4 start from Rs 18.99 lakh for the entry-level STD variant and go up to Rs 23.30 lakh (ex-showroom India) for more tech-loaded S trim. At this price point, the Multistrada V4 is quite expensive than the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 (Rs 16.90 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh), however, its base spec trim undercuts the recently launched BMW R 1250 GS Adventure (Rs 20.45 lakh to 22.40 lakh) by a huge margin.

2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 – Engine & Gearbox

The heart of the Multistrada V4 is a 1158cc V4 Granturismo engine producing an impressive power output of 170PS at 10,500rpm and a peak torque of 125Nm at 8750rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission, which comes with a bi-directional quickshifter and a slipper clutch.

Ducati claims that the engine has been tuned to enhance the riding experience at lower RPMs. Besides, it also uses a spring valve return system instead of the iconic Ducati Desmodromic valve system. With this, the Ducati ADV motorcycle can go up to 60,000 km before needing a valve clearance adjustment, which is twice the distance than that of the V-twin-powered Multistrada 1260. On the other hand, the oil service interval is now scheduled at 15,000 km or 24 months. Also, at 66.7kg, the engine weighs 1.2 kg less than the Multistrada 1260’s Testastretta DVT V-twin unit.
