Ola Scooter To Be Offered In Ten Color Options; Buyers Will Also Get Home Delivery Option

Ola Electric is all set to launch its first scooter in the Indian market. Pre-launch bookings of the e-scooter are already underway at a token amount of Rs 499. While its launch date is still under the wraps, the brand has revealed that the upcoming Ola scooter will be available in as many as ten colours, includes red, pink, yellow, black, white, light blue, dark blue, silver, with some available in matte and shiny shades. It is the most comprehensive range of color choices available with any electric two-wheeler yet.

Many Colours. All Green.

In the other updates, it has been reported that Ola Electric could adopt the unconventional method of sales — i.e., the direct-to-customer sales model. Under which the brand is unlikely to open its dealerships and could deliver their products to buyers’ homes across the country. Along with this, facilities like booking, documentation, and loan application will also be arranged online. Rumors are also suggesting that Ola is setting up a separate logistics department that will manage the process of registration and delivery. After-sales support will also be provided to the doorstep. In fact, the brand has already received more than one lakh bookings of the scooter through digital means, making it the most pre-booked scooter in the world.

What else do we know so far?

The Ola Electric Scooter is likely to be offered in two variants: S1 and S1 Pro. It is claimed to offer class-leading acceleration, high-range, largest boot space in class, digital instrument cluster with cloud-based connectivity, mobile app-based keyless access, and several segment-first features. It is expected to get a non-removable battery pack with a claimed range of around 150km on a full charge. It can be fast-charged from 0-50% in just 18 minutes, which will be enough for a 75km ride.

Besides, the company is also working on establishing a network of 1 lakh hypercharging stations across 40 cities. The initial phase will include around 5,000 charging points/stations across 100 cities within the first year.

Ola Scooter expected price

Expect prices of the new Ola Electric Scooter to begin from around Rs 1 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with the TVS iQube, Baja Chetak, Okinawa iPraise+Ather 450X, and the upcoming Simple Energy One.
