CFMoto Set to Re-enter Indian Market by Mid-2025 with 450MT Adventure

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto is gearing up for a comeback in the Indian market, targeting a re-launch by mid-2025. The brand plans to introduce fresh models, starting with the 450MT Adventure bike and the 675SR-R sport bike.

CFMoto’s Return Strategy

CFMoto previously entered India through a limited dealer network but exited the market post the implementation of BS6 emission norms due to low sales. Now, the company is in the final stages of appointing a new local partner and aims to re-establish itself with a more strategic approach. The bikes will be brought in as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units, with the 450MT expected to be the first to launch.

CFMoto 450MT – Adventure-Ready

The CFMoto 450MT is powered by a 449cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 42PS and 42Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Designed for off-road enthusiasts, the 450MT features a TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts, and music controls.

Additional highlights include:-

  • Switchable traction control
  • USB-C and USB-A charging ports
  • KYB adjustable fork and preload-adjustable monoshock with 200mm travel
  • 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless-spoke wheels
  • Dual-channel ABS with rear-wheel switch-off

The 450MT will rival the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Aprilia Tuareg 457, and BMW F 450 GS.

Key features include: –

  • 5-inch curved TFT display with smartphone connectivity
  • Google Maps navigation, call & SMS alerts, music controls
  • Switchable traction control
  • USB-C and USB-A charging ports
  • 41mm fully adjustable inverted fork and rear monoshock
  • 300mm front twin discs and 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS
  • 17-inch wheels with 120-section front and 180-section rear tyres

The 675SR-R will compete with the Triumph Daytona 660 and Honda CBR650R in India.

Looking Forward

CFMoto’s second innings in India marks a significant shift from its previous strategy. The brand now boasts a range of premium, globally acclaimed motorcycles and is focused on making a strong impact in the Indian market.

If all goes as planned, CFMoto will debut the 450MT in mid-2025, followed by more models, including the 675SR-R and potentially the 700MT. With competitive pricing and a fresh product lineup, CFMoto aims to carve out a niche in India’s evolving motorcycle market.
