BS6 KTM 250 Duke Got LED Headlights, Prices Up By Rs 4,000

KTM has updated the BS6 250 Duke, featuring a new full-LED headlight similar to the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. Due to this minor update, the bike has received a price hike of Rs 3,968. Hence, the updated 250 Duke will now cost you Rs 2,09,280 (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings for the new 250 Duke is already commenced at a token amount of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.

Earlier, the KTM 250 Duke was available with halogen headlight with LED DRLs. It is safe to assume that KTM has updated the 250 Duke by inspiring from Bajaj Dominar duo which too comes with LED headlamps setup.

Is there any other similarity with 390 Duke?

Like its elder sibling, the quarter-liter Duke also sports the 43mm WP upside-down open cartridge forks and 320mm disc at the front and a Supermoto mode for the dual-channel ABS setup. The bike received these underpinnings during the BS6 update. However, it still misses out the TFT instrumentation cluster like the 390 duke. Instead of this, it features a digital LCD unit.

Is there any other changes done?

Apart from the new headlight, there are no other changes have been made to the bike. It continues to be powered by the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 30PS of max power and 24Nm of peak torque. The engine is further mated to a a 6-speed gearbox for transmission duties. It is the most powerful bike in its segment.

Rivals

In the sport naked bike segment, it competes against the Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. However, in terms of pricing, it is one of the most expensive offerings in the 250cc segment.

Author's Take

The KTM 250 Duke offers best performance in the segment as well as the best-in capability in terms of dynamics. Also, it is the most features rich offering in its class. The new LED headlamps come as a welcome change. However, the missing TFT instrument would have completed the package.
