Luxury automaker Mini has reopened bookings for the Cooper SE in India for a batch of 40 units only (10 units more than the previous lot). With this, the brand has also hiked its prices by Rs 3.70 lakh, making it cost Rs 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, this added price also brings new features to the electrified hatch.
Mini Cooper SE – What’s New?
As mentioned above, the Mini Cooper SE welcomes some new features that include Black Pearl chequered sports seats, heating function for the front seats, and active safety features such as adaptive LED headlights, comfort access system (keyless entry), traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and parking assistant. Besides, features like 5.5-inch digital driver’s display, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, Harman Kardon sound system, a heads-up display, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, etc., continue on offer.

Powertrain
At the heart of the Mini Cooper SE is a single electric motor (184PS/270Nm), paired with a 32.6kWh battery pack that is claimed to offer a range of up to 270 kilometers (as per WLTP cycle). It gets four driving modes: Green+, Green, Mid, and Sport, and can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
As for charging, Mini offers an 11kW wall box charger with the Cooper SE that can energize its battery pack from 0 to 80 percent in just 2.5 hours. On the other hand, a commonly available 50kWh DC fast charger can do the same in simply 35 minutes.
