Bookings Open For 2023 Tata Harrier, Safari with ADAS Safety Features

Tata Motors has commenced bookings for the updated Harrier and Safari that will feature a new infotainment system and ADAS features, most of which were showcased via Red Dark Editions at Auto Expo 2023. Interested customers can reserve their units in advance for a token of Rs 30,000 ahead of the price announcement in March 2023.

2023 Tata Harrier, Safari – What’s New?

As mentioned earlier, the biggest addition to the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite that includes active safety features like forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and lane change alert. The SUVs also receive a 360-degree surround view system. However, it misses out on adaptive cruise control that automatically changes the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.

Furthermore, the flagship SUVs also get a new & bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system replacing the outgoing 8.8-inch unit. The new floating touchscreen display also supports wireless smartphone integration via Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and voice commands in six languages. Additionally, the SUVs also receive a new 7-inch TFT display for the driver.

Engine and Gearbox

Mechanically, both the Tata Harrier and Safari remain unchanged. They will continue to get a 2.0-litre, 4-cyl turbocharged diesel engine that makes 170PS of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. However, they will be updated to the upcoming RDE emission norms. It will continue to be available with the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.

Expected Price

Expect the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari to command a significant price premium over their current prices. For reference, the Harrier currently costs between Rs 15 – 22.6 lakh, while the Safari ranges from Rs 15.65 lakh to Rs 24.01 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
