BMW X3 Facelift Likely To Launch In January; Bookings Open Unofficially

The facelifted X3 could be the first car from BMW for India in 2022. It is likely to be launched in the second week of January 2022. In fact, select BMW dealerships have already started accepting its pre-launch bookings.

Revealed in June 2021, the BMW X3 facelift has received a reworked front fascia with a revised kidney grille, which now connects at the center. The updated front bumper with blacked-out angular air dam and the sharper LED headlamps with a dark shade increase its sporty quotient. Besides, the new alloys, revamped taillamps with darker tint, an updated rear bumper with gloss black treatment, and dual exhaust tips add to the overall appearance.

The interior of the 2022 BMW X3 has received minor changes in the form of a new gear lever, BMW's latest-generation iDrive connected technology along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and redesigned climate control knobs & AC vents. The other notable features of the Bavarian SUV include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, memory function for front seats, 3-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and much more. 

The facelifted X3 is expected to carry forward the existing engine options that comprise 2.0-liter petrol (252PS/350Nm) and 2.0-liter diesel (190PS/400N) engines, both driving all four wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

BMW is likely to price the upgraded X3 at a hefty price premium over the ongoing model, which retails from Rs 57.9 lakh to Rs 64.90 lakh (ex-showroom India). When launched, it will restore its competition with the Volvo XC60, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the recently launched facelifted Audi Q5.
