BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro: What’s Underneath the Hood?

At the heart of the BMW X30 xDrive M Sport Pro is a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (258PS/400Nm), paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, propelling all four wheels of the SUV via an AWD system. It also features a 48V mild-hybrid system retained from the 20 xDrive trim.

BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro: Exterior

Being a sportier iteration of the BMW X3, the new X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro gets a host of visual enhancements over the standard model. These include an illuminated grille with a gloss-black finish and a smoke-effect for the LED projector headlamps and tail lamps.

It also gets a gloss-black exterior scheme instead of chrome, along with M badging on the fenders, gloss black roof rails & roof-integrated spoiler, and larger 20-inch M-specific alloys with red brake callipers. Its rear bumper has also been tweaked and now features a diffuser in gloss black finish.

BMW has also added a new Brooklyn Grey Metallic scheme to its colour palette, which includes Dune Grey Metallic, Alpine White, Individual Tanzanite Blue and Black Sapphire Metallic.

Interior and Features

Step inside and you will notice the identical dashboard layout as the standard X3, offered in two colour schemes: black-&-brown and black-&-beige, depending on the exterior paint option. The dash and door liners come finished in a more premium ‘Veganza’ leatherette finish instead of the polyester fabric finish offered in the standard model. It also features M stripes stitched into the seat belts and a metal sill plate, along with puddle lamps projecting the M logo.

For creature comforts, the SUV comes equipped with amenities like a powered tailgate, heads-up display, rear sunblinds, ambient lighting, powered front seat with ventilation, 3-zone climate control, a 14.9-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic glass roof, Harmon Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brakes with auto-hold, eight airbags, and a level-2 ADAS suite. The X3 is also a 5-star rated SUV from Euro NCAP.

Rivals

The new X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro serves as a sportier alternative to the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Lexus NX and Range Rover Evoque.
