BMW Motorrad Teased Its First Maxi-Scooter For India, Launch Expected Soon

BMW Motorrad India is all set to launch its first maxi-scooter in the coming days. The same has been teased recently with a captain stating – “Are you ready to rise to the next level of urban riding? BMW Motorrad India’s first Maxi-scooter is debuting soon”.

Currently, the BMW Motorrad has two maxi-styled scooters in their global lineup – C 400 GT and a more rugged-looking C 400 X, which were updated earlier this year. Both are specially designed for the urban mobility segment. However, the headlamps seen in the teaser image suggest that the company will bring the C 400 GT to our shores.

The BMW C 400 GT is powered by a 350cc 4-valve liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 34PS at 7,500rpm and a peak twist of 35Nm at 6,000rpm. The horsepower is transferred to the rear wheel via a Stepless CVT automatic transmission. BMW claims that C 400 GT is quite agile and dynamic through traffic and delivers outstanding performance on any road surface. Further, the e-throttle grip (ride-by-wire) technology ensures smooth throttle response even at low speeds. It can attain a top speed of 138 kmph.

As for styling, the BMW C 400 GT takes its design inspiration from the RT-series bikes. It gets an extremely dynamic outlay, featuring numberless sharp body cuts and a highly dominating sporty V-shaped front trim panel with a prominent full LED multi-array headlamp. Besides, it also gets a long windshield, highly ergonomic seats, keyless ride technology, USB charging sockets, flexcase storage compartment, a full-color TFT-LCD display with BMW Motorrad Connectivity, self-calibrating ASC (automatic stability control), ABS, and more for a convenient & relaxed riding experience.

Globally, the C 400 GT is available in three color options, namely Moonwalk Grey Metallic, Blackstorm Metallic, and Alpine White.

Expect the upcoming BMW C 400 GT to be priced around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). There will be no direct rival to the scooter in the Indian market upon launch.
