2022 BMW M4 Competition – Powertrain

Powering the new BMW M4 Competition is a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder TwinPower turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 517PS of maximum power and 650Nm of peak torque (60PS/100Nm up from its predecessor), and comes mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system (first time for M4) with an Active M differential. However, it’s worth noting that it is a rear-biased setup, and you can choose between three drive variants – 4WD, 4WD Sport, and 2WD (DSC off mode).

The 2022 M4 Competition claims a 0-100 kmph sprint in merely 3.5 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 250kmph.

BMW M4 Competition – Design and Features

Exterior

The new-gen M4 Competition looks quite striking and elegant. It gets a large frameless kidney grille upfront with seven horizontal double louvers for the maximum throughput of cooling airs. There’s also the new & sleeker adaptive LED leaser headlamps and the aggressively styled bumper with gaping air intakes that gives its front facia a dynamic appearance.

On the side, the clean silhouette and blacked-out 19-or 20-inch M forged double-spoke wheels alloys round off its sporty look. It also gets a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof to keep the car’s weight in check.
