BMW iX1 Electric SUV Teased; India Launch In October

BMW India has teased the iX1 electric SUV ahead of its India launch in October this year. It is essentially an electrified version of the BMW X1.

Powertrain

The BMW iX1 uses a front-wheel-drive single electric motor in the Drive20 variant that makes 204PS and 250Nm, whereas the xDrive30 gets a dual-motor setup, rated at 313PS and 494Nm. Both of these variants get a 64.7kWh underfloor-mounted battery pack that claims a range of up to 475km. Its AWD version can do 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds before attaining a top speed of 180 kmph.

When it comes to charging, the BMW iX1 supports a DC fast charging of up to 130kW that can juice it up from 10-80% in just 29 minutes.

While it’s not official, reports suggest that BMW is expected to offer the iX1 in a sole xDrive30 variant in India, with prices likely to range between Rs 60-65 lakh (ex-showroom).
