Ather Energy Signed An MoU With Karnataka Govt To Set Up Fast Chargers

Ather Energy, the fastest emerging EV startup, has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the government of Karnataka to install 1,000 fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) across the state. Recently, the brand had also announced its plan to set up 5,000 fast chargers across the country.

As of now, Ather has 58 fast charging stations and around 300 fast-charging grid points, spread across 21+ cities and 215+ locations. In order to create a distinguishable, approachable, and scalable charging experience, the brand also shares these charging grids with other OEMs as well.

In other developments, the EV maker has recently raised an investment of around 12 billion rupees ($160 million) from Hero MotoCrop that will help the brand to increase its annual production to one million scooters over the next three years. It will also soon open its second manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, to cater to the growing EV demands. Besides, Ather is also intending to expand its retail network to 600 stores across the nation.
