All Citroen Cars To Get Standard 6 Airbags From July 2024

With safety becoming a key concern among Indian car buyers, automakers have started offering advanced safety features to prioritise the well-being of their customers. The latest brand to announce this update is Citroen. The company has recently affirmed its commitment to upgrading safety across its lineup. The French marque will introduce six airbags, ISOFIX anchors and rear seat belt reminders as standard fitment across its localised lineup starting from the second half of 2024, i.e., July 2024.

Currently, Hyundai and Kia are the only carmakers that offer standard 6 airbags across their lineup.

At present, Citroen has four offerings in its Indian portfolio – C3 (localised), eC3 (localised), C3 Aircross (localised), and C5 Aircross (CBU). All these three locally manufactured models only get dual front airbags. However, the imported C5 Aircross comes loaded with a comprehensive list of safety features, including 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold & descent assist, tyre pressure monitor, driver drowsiness detection, park assist, rear parking camera with 180-degree vision, blind-spot detection system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic parking brakes, and traction control system with 5 modes.

In other news, Citroen is planning to introduce a crossover sedan in India, namely the C3X, which will share its platform with the C3 Aircross. It will be offered in both ICE and electric versions.
