Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Recalled; Over 40,000 units Affected

Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall for the Grand Vitara SUV, affecting 39,506 units of the SUV due to an issue with the speedometer’s fuel level indicator and warning light. All these units are manufactured between December 9, 2024 and April 29, 2025. It is the fourth recall for the Grand Vitara since its launch in 2021.

Recall Reason

According to the brand, they have suspected that the fuel level indicator and warning light in the speedometer assembly in some of these vehicles may not accurately reflect the fuel status as intended.

Maruti Suzuki’s authorised service centres will soon start contacting owners of suspected vehicles for a free inspection. And if required, the part will be replaced at no cost. Meanwhile, customers can also check if their Grand Vitara has also been recalled by clicking here and entering their car’s chassis number, starting with MA3/MBJ/MBH, followed by a 14-digit alphanumeric number.

Expect Toyota to also announce a similar recall for its badge-engineered twin, the Hyryder.
