TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter To Launch On August 28

TVS is gearing up to launch an all-new electric scooter on August 28. Expected to be called the “ORBITER”, the upcoming TVS EV could be positioned below the iQube in its EV lineup.

What To Expect?

While details about the upcoming TVS electric scooter are scarce at the moment, it is expected to be a simple, low-cost EV, focused on practicality & everyday usability, targeted for budget-conscious buyers. It is likely to use a hub-mounted motor and a small battery pack to keep the prices in check.

Instead of loading it with high-end features, the company may offer basic equipment, such as all-LED lighting, digital instrumentation, and basic connected features in higher trims. This would help balance functionality with affordability, ensuring the scooter remains competitive against rivals in the entry-level EV space.

Upcoming TVS electric scooter

Currently, India’s low-cost EV scooter segment has offerings like Ola S1 X, Bounce Infinity and Hero VIDA VX2. TVS’s strong brand value, after-sales support, and wider dealer network could give this new scooter a significant edge in the market.

Its prices are expected to undercut the iQube, potentially making it one of the most affordable EVs from a mainstream manufacturer. The brand could also offer it with a BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) program, allowing customers to rent batteries instead of purchasing them outright, further helping to keep upfront prices as low as possible.
