Mg Windsor Pro Set To Launch On May 6 With More Range and Bigger Battery Pack

JSW MG Motor India has announced that the long-range version of the Windsor EV will be called “Windsor Pro” and will make its official debut on May 6, 2025. The upcoming EV promises to offer improved range, bigger battery, better safety, and improved styling & technology.

Bigger Battery

Going by the reports, the Windsor Pro is expected to feature a 50.6 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of nearly 460 km on a single charge. This battery configuration is available for sale in Indonesia, where the vehicle is sold as the Wuling Cloud EV. However, despite the battery upgrade, the Windsor Pro is likely to retain the ongoing front-axle mounted single motor that delivers 136 PS of max power and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Currently, the Windsor EV comes with a 38 kWh battery pack that claims an ARAI-rated range of 332 km. However, under real driving conditions with AC usage, it returns a true range of around 250 kilometers.

Author’s Take

Since its debut in September 2024, the MG Windsor has been well accepted by the market thanks to premium positioning and battery rental plans, and now, with the Windsor Pro, MG seems poised to push the envelope even further. While a slight price hike is expected over the current Rs 14-16 lakh range, the added value in range and features could attract an even broader audience.
