Tata Sierra Dashboard Design Revealed Through Patent Images

The Tata Sierra is one of the most anticipated launches of 2025. It was showcased as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo and later in its pre-production form at the 2025 Auto Expo. However, the brand has refrained from sharing much details about the upcoming SUV. But now, a patent image of its dashboard has emerged on the web, revealing how the interior of the upcoming SUV will look like.

Going by the patent images, the dashboard of the upcoming Tata Sierra lacks the third screen (passenger screen), which was present in the pre-production model. In fact, the dashboard design in patent images closely resembles the concept version. This suggests that such a design might be offered in the lower or mid-spec trim, while the third screen could be reserved for higher variants.

The dashboard, minimalist in design, has a stepped effect that enhances its visual appeal. It houses a large central display for the infotainment that’s connected to the digital cluster’s housing. Below the infotainment are the central air con vents, while the side AC vents are neatly integrated within horizontal lines running across the dashboard. A push start/stop button is positioned in the right side of the dashboard, along with a rotary knob just below it. Keen eyes might also notice a centrally mounted speaker, which was present in the earlier showcased versions of the SUV. Expect it to feature the same steering wheel and HVAC controls as the Tata Safari and Harrier.

What else do we know about the Sierra?

Based on the model showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Sierra will come in a 5-seater configuration with a conventional bench seat in the rear. However, reports also suggest that Tata might also offer a 4-seater variant, with two captain seats in the 2nd row featuring ottoman functions. Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, premium sound system, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, and level-2 ADAS suite.

Technical details about the Sierra are scarce at the moment. However, we know that it will be based on the Gen2 architecture. Underneath the hood, the ICE-powered Sierra is likely to house the brand’s new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol (170PS/280Nm) and the Harrier’s 2-litre diesel engine albiet in a different state of tune. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. Interestingly, it will also get an optional all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) setup.

Expect Tata to launch the Sierra in H2 of 2025, with prices likely to start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, it will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Kia Seltos.
