Hyundai Creta EV To Be Launched On This Date

The electric version of the Hyundai Creta, expected to be named the Creta EV, has been spotted testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Now, the Korean carmaker has confirmed that its launch will take place on 17 January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Going by the spy images, the Hyundai Creta EV will look largely similar to its ICE counterpart except for a few tweaks and EV-specific changes like a closed-off grille and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.

Inside, it is expected to feature the same dashboard layout as the ICE version, featuring a dual-tone interior and a dual-screen setup on the dashboard. However, similar to the IONIQ 5, it is likely to get a drive selector lever behind the steering wheel. It could also receive vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging and a multi-level regenerative braking system.

The other notable features could include dual-zone climate control, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags, a 360-degree surround view system, and a Level-2 ADAS suite.

While technical details of the upcoming Creta EV are still unknown, we expect Hyundai to offer it with two battery pack options, with a claimed range of over 400 kilometres. Expect it to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival the likes of MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, Tata Curvv.ev, Mahindra BS 6, and the upcoming Maruti eVitara.
