Honda recently launched the 3rd-generation Amaze, which starts at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for it are underway while deliveries will commence in January 2025. However, if you can’t wait to get their hands on it, Honda is also selling the old-gen Amaze as the brand has some leftover inventory of the previous-gen model.
To jog your memory, the old-gen Honda Amaze was loaded with features like automatic projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, 7-inch infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, keyless entry with push button start/stop, cruise control, auto AC, rear centre armrest, ISOFIX child seat anchors, dual-front airbags, reverse parking sensors with camera. Compared to the new-gen model, it misses features like LED headlamps, rear AC vents, a bigger infotainment system, 7-inch coloured MID, side & curtain airbags, a lane watch camera and an ADAS suite.

Powering both the new and old-gen Amaze is the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, petrol engine (90PS and 110Nm), along with the same transmission options (5-speed MT/CVT). However, the new Amaze offers an extra 1.16 kmpl fuel efficiency with the CVT option. For reference, the old Amaze claims a fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl with manual and 18.3 kmpl with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
The second generation Honda Amaze (old model) is priced from Rs 7.19 lakh to Rs 9.13 lakh, while the new Amaze is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 9.69 lakh (both prices, x-showroom).
