New-Gen Honda Amaze Launched At Rs 8 Lakh

The much-awaited second-generation Honda Amaze has finally been launched in India, with prices starting from Rs 7,99,900 (ex-showroom). The sedan is now offered in three variants: V, VX and ZX.

It will be available for test drives and bookings from today, while deliveries will commence from January 2025.

New Honda Amaze: Exterior Design

The 2024 Honda Amaze features a fresh appearance, taking design cues from the Honda City and global-spec Accord. Upfront, the upgraded sedan features a rectangular-ish chrome studded grille with a chrome bar connecting the new twin-pod LED projector headlamps. The headlamp unit features an integrated eyebrow pattern LED DRLs. The redigned bumper seems taking inspiration from the International-spec Honda Accord, featuring sharp creases and LED fog lamps.

From the sides, the Amaze displays a straight beltline and chrome-finished door handles. It also gets multi-spoke alloy wheels, redesigned boot lid with wraparound tail lights inspired by the City.

Honda offers the updated Amaze in six colour options, including the new Obsidian Blue Pearl. The other five shades include Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Meteoriod Gray Metallic.

Dimensions

The new Honda Amaze measures 3995mm in length, 1733mm in width, and 1500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2470mm and a ground clearance of 172mm. It boasts the segment’s largest boot capacity of 416 litres (+34L than before). The company also claims that its rear head clearance and rear leg room have been increased by 12mm and 70mm, respectively.

The interior of the 2024 Honda Amaze draws inspiration from the Honda City sedan and Elevate SUV, with an 8-inch touchscreen taking the centre stage. Similar to the current model, it features a dual-tone black and beige color scheme. It also gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a new climate control panel, all are borrowed from its elder siblings.

Honda states that the new Amaze’s frame features 42% high-strength steel and has performed well in their in-house crash tests.

Honda Amaze Powertrain and Fuel Efficiency (Mileage)

Powering the Honda Amaze is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder iVTEC petrol engine that makes 90PS of max power at 6,000 rpm and 110Nm of peak torque at 4800rpm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. While the former claims a fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl, the automatic unit can offer you an improved fuel efficiency of 19.46 kmpl.

Warranty

Honda is offering the Amaze with a 3-year/unlimited kilometer warranty, which can be increased to 10 years with extended warranty packages.
